Miscellaneous (Nonlace)
«Vicki» Doily

The general instructions from Knitted Heirloom Lace III list Size 1 needles as required tools, but the pattern instructions require Size 2 needles. Presumably these sizes refer to 2.25 mm and 2.75 mm, respectively.
In an attempt to achieve the specified 15‑inch (38.1‑cm) diameter, I used 3.50‑mm (U.S. 4) needles; but my end result is only 36 cm (14 in). No hook size was specified, but I used a 1.75‑mm (US 2/0, or 00) hook. DMC Cebelia Size 10 is a suitable substitution for the specified KnitCrosheen thread.
What make «Vicki» unique are the 160 cluster ties, formed by wrapping multiples of three stitches together. They were awkward to make the first several times, but the process got easier. Each round was easy to memorize. This design is a quick knit.
«Fern» Doily

From Knitted Heirloom Lace III, here is a temporary photograph of «Fern» since everyone has been so patient. The doily has not been dressed yet; so, the edging is curled. Still, this gives you a good idea how the doily will look. I think the reason I am putting off the photography is my lack of photographic skill and interest. I would rather wait longer and get good photographs than post something unbecoming. I also need to determine how I should display the projects on the site, as I am trying to keep from making a page with too many designs to be pleasing. I will think of it some more, and we will see.
